The Project

The £34m scheme comprised new offices accommodating over 1,100 staff; public help desk and a custodial suite with 40 cells.

The purpose-built West Yorkshire Police HQ was one of three new facilities developed by Interserve Construction for West Yorkshire Police.

A State-of-the-Art Station

Power On was awarded the contract to provide a 1.45MVA HV metered supply to the new station, which was loop connected into the existing Northern Power Grid 11kV network. To achieve this, Power On carried out all excavation works, including a 1.5m deep hand excavation to avoid a high pressure gas main underneath Elland Road, installation and commissioning of all the IDNO adoptable assets together with the customer-owned transformer.

Interserve Construction and Power On have a good, longstanding relationship. We find them very proactive and flexible in their approach yet efficient and professional in their delivery. The Police HQ building in Leeds was subject to a very onerous programme of works and Power On delivered on time and within budget.
