ProLogis Park, Northampton
The Project
ProLogis Park Pineham is a 112 acre development comprising prime distribution and warehouse space in a convenient location adjacent to the M1 motorway (junction 15A).
This £2.5m project involved the provision of a complete new 33kV/11kV primary substation, fed from the centre of Northampton some 6km away. On-site 33kV switchgear, two 12/24MVA ONAN/OFAF transformers and a primary 11kV switchboard was also provided within a compound.
A Primary Space
To enable construction of this compound, Power On supplied detailed designs for both the builders and civil engineers. In addition, the off-site 33kV cable route presented a challenge as it involved a major directional drill beneath both the River Nene and the Grand Union Canal simultaneously.
Further Networks
In tandem with this project, Power On was also awarded the contract to provide an 11kV infrastructure network along the estate’s spine roads, ensuring each future development plot could simply obtain its connection at its site boundary.
