The mixed-use development is in the prime regeneration area of this thriving city and the 82-home residential block offers views across the Solent.
The final phase of the redevelopment of Ocean Village in Southampton included a unique five-star harbour hotel with 85 bedrooms and 12 penthouse apartments. Southampton Harbour Hotel and Spa includes a gym and swimming pool, along with a luxurious rooftop bar.
Both the high and low voltage electricity networks required for the project were provided by Power On. The infrastructure works included the installation of two 1MVA substations to provide the required load. These included a temporary building and landlord’s supply, as well as the main connection works for the hotel, retail, and residential units, which were constructed to the final meter location in each residential apartment.
The Fibre to the Premise network provided by Power On is future proofed up to 1Gbps. Power On’s Ultrafast Fibre Network is one of the UK’s fastest fibre broadband and telecoms network solutions for housing and high-rise apartments on new build developments. Power On’s fibre product is ‘live’ on the day residents move in, so they can immediately pick up the phone and get online.
Power On also delivered a Fibre Integrated Reception System (FIRS) to the Ocean Village development. FIRS uses a single satellite dish and aerial array to deliver satellite TV, free-view and DAB radio. The system is also SKY-Q compatible. The signal is distributed to all the homes on the development using the fibre network. This negates the need for aerials and dishes to be installed on each premises.
